Aspen Pharma: Partnering activity 2009-2014

Aspen Pharma, a global branded and generics pharmaceutical manufacturer, has found a place in the top 50 big pharma companies listed by Current Partnering. With its headquarters in South Africa, Aspen has a global presence in over 50 countries. The company’s partnering, collaborative R&D and licensing activity are reviewed here.

Aspen Pharmacare has entered into a number of partnerships since 2009, with its focus on infectious diseases, cardiovascular, cancer and CNS therapeutic areas.

Aspen’s most active partner GSK, has signed some very high deals with in asset purchase deals. GSK strategically partners with Aspen to enter into the Asian and other markets worldwide. A number of OTC brands are purchased by Aspen from GSK and sold in the international markets.
