SciClone Pharmaceuticals has announced only 1 M&A deal since 2009; the acquisition of NovaMed Pharmaceuticals. In April 2011, the company entered into an agreement to purchase the China based specialty company NovaMed Pharmaceuticals for $105 million. The transaction was a strategic move to push its position in the Chinese pharmaceutical industry.
