The number of partnering, collaborative R&D and licensing deals announced varied year on year with a significant increase in 2008 before a return to normal levels thereafter.

Analysis of the partnering deals shows a strong emphasis on partnerships in psychiatry, oncology, central nervous system, ophthalmics and metabolic diseases. This reflects the focus areas strongly.
