Further analysis of these pharmaceutical deals shows that Teva has a preference for licensing deals, similar to many other top pharmaceutical or big pharma companies. Such partnering deals provide the right for Teva to exploit the licensors technology in return for payment of upfront, development and sales, and royalty payments. In addition, Teva has a tendency for settlement agreements. These are a consequence of Teva’s generic pharmaceutical focus, where the aim is often to advance a generic product to market as soon as the law allows.
