Steve Poile
Steve Poile is the founder and chief executive officer of Wildwood Ventures Ltd., the operator of CurrentPartnering, the online provider of best practice, business information and intelligence for dealmakers.
Steve Poile was previously a co-founder and director of Bridgehead International Ltd. He joined the company in 2003 after the merger between Bridgehead and Pharmalicensing. Steve was a founder of Pharmalicensing, which was incorporated in 1998.
Prior to this, he was with Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceutical Division as Head of Global Competitive Intelligence, having held previous roles in Licensing and New Technology Research, involved in many third party technology projects from both corporate and academic sources, responsible for search, find, securing, and management of products and technology.
Previously, Steve spent ten years with SmithKline Beecham in a technology research role, gaining considerable experience in the gastrointestinal, dermatological and drug delivery fields, from basic research through to full product development.
He has spent over 24 years in the pharmaceutical industry where roles have provided extensive experience in both commercial and research and development, as well as knowledge in the fields of basic pharmaceutical research, product development, marketing, business development and competitive intelligence.
Steve originally trained as biochemist, specialising in enzyme- and pharmaco-kinetics. He later received his MBA.
Steve is an active member of the Licensing Executives Society, a core member of the LESI's Life Sciences Committee (LSC), and is responsible for implementation of the LSC's Q&A Board. Steve also speaks regularly on the topics of finding partners and deal terms. In addition, he is a member of Bioscience York's advisory committee in the United Kingdom.
